Description
The Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging (WCAAA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults and individuals with disabilities. We provide vital programs and services across the region and are committed to creating a positive, inclusive workplace.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to support the HR Director in managing day-to-day HR operations. This role assists with recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and HR systems.
The HR Manager supports strategic HR planning by providing input, analysis, and recommendations to the HR Director, helping guide organizational initiatives. High-risk orcomplex HR matters remain under the guidance of the HR Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing HR programs and initiatives in alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and staffing processes.
- Support employee relations, escalating complex or high-risk issues to the HR Director.
- Assist with benefits administration, leave tracking, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain HR records, HRIS data, and prepare reports to support HR decisions and strategic planning.
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Knowledge of HR laws, benefits, and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Ability to provide input to support HR strategic planning.
