Notice: FY2027 Request for Proposal (RFP)

The Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging (WCAAA) is pleased to announce the release of its Request for Proposal (RFP) for fiscal year 2027. This process invites eligible organizations and individuals to submit proposals for grant funding to support programs and services that benefit older adults within our service area. Both first-time and returning applicants are encouraged to apply.

For fiscal year 2027, WCAAA is particularly interested in funding projects that address behavioral health, housing, and transportation needs for older adults. Proposals that demonstrate a clear impact in one or more of these priority areas will be given strong consideration.

Area Agencies on Aging receive federal funding through the Older Americans Act to administer social and nutrition services within designated regions. These funds are allocated through a competitive RFP process. In Connecticut, most federal funds are awarded based on the federal fiscal year, with grant periods extending from October 1 through September 30. State-funded grants follow the state fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30.

Final funding decisions, including award amounts and reimbursement rates, are made at the sole discretion of the WCAAA Board of Directors.

FY2027 Grants Process

01/2026 – Applications are posted in January at: WCAAA.org/Grants-Contracts

02/2026 – Individual guidance and training is available, covering the application process and monthly reporting. Please email [email protected] to schedule a session.

03/2026 – Applications are due March 16, 2026 by 4:00p.m.

06/2026 – Applications are reviewed by WCAAA's Review Committee, Advisory Council, and Board of Directors in June.

06/2026 – State Alzheimer's Aid Grant awards are announced in June.

08/2026 –Title-III Grant awards are announced by August.
